Keeping our priorities straight is where it all starts. Doing what we can to create an environment where kids can learn, play and laugh in safety comes before anything else.

A Special Month for Special Needs: High 5 Proudly Supports Autism Awareness All April Long

A lot has changed in the 51 years since the Autism Society held the first National Autism Awareness Month in April of 1970. Today, we know there isn’t just one form of the condition. Modern diagnosis techniques are now able to identify disorders in social skills, speech, movement, and more across a wide spectrum of behaviors. While the subtypes vary greatly, they all share the need for greater understanding in common.

And also, for ensuring that no one falls between the cracks.

At BSAC, that’s where our Special Needs programs come in.

BSAC offers the American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric CPR/ First Aid/ AED Certification Class.

The Blended Learning class combines online learning and instructor-led classroom skill sessions. The comprehensive and nationally recognized course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults and children.

Special needs adult members of Team T.R.I.D.E.N.T. lend helping hands in support of LEGO-building programs

 TAMPA, Fla., January 25, 2020 – High 5, a community-based, 501c3 non-profit organization, dedicated to providing regional leadership in after-school programs and sports recreation, proudly announces a new partnership between Team T.R.I.D.E.N.T. the High 5 program for special needs adults and the local chapter of Bricks 4 Kidz, part of a global LEGO® brick-based learning program.

Virtual Swim League and Junior Olympic Games Swim Event – Coming to High 5!

BSAC Director of Swimming, Rich Rogers, and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) have successfully secured the rights to host a global Virtual Swim League (VSL), this summer at the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center. Swimmers can compete in this event by way of the “Virtual Swim League” (VSL); structured by Coach Rich and the AAU. BSAC will hold three (3) VSL events throughout June and early July.

The season will end with BSAC hosting a swim event for the Junior Olympic Games. This will be a “blended” event—held onsite and virtually.

BSAC would like to thank everyone who participated in BSAC’s Community Partnership with the Rotary Club of Brandon Food Drive supporting ECHO!  The Food Drive was a huge success and would have not been possible without each of your donations!  BSAC collected over 1,370 lbs. of food and supplies for ECHO’s families!  The Rotary Club of Brandon collected over 2,000 lbs. along with $3000 donated in monetary gifts!  Families and Individuals in our community will benefit greatly from this food drive and will now have access to food and
