BSAC and Livingstone Academy have long been leaders for special needs education in Hillsborough County. Now, they join forces in a new partnership, filling a gap in much-needed services for special needs students and adults.

Chuck Burgess (CEO of BSAC) and Chris Pello (CEO Livingstone Schools) met in Leadership Brandon through the Chamber of Commerce in 2014. Swimmers on the BSAC Blue Wave team recently traveled to Greensboro, NC to compete in the AAU Jr. Olympics. It is a multisport event with thousands of participants from across the United States. The Amateur Athletic Union was established in 1888 with the philosophy of “Sports for All, Forever”.

Judy Moore’s son, Nathan, in the fall of 2000, started a tennis program for intellectually disabled athletes, for community service hours at Jesuit High School of Tampa. Judy helped out the first year, then took over the program when her son went off to college. Some 17 years later, close to 100 athletes continue to attend Tennis For Fun clinics, held weekly on court space donated by the nonprofit Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center, committed to impacting lives daily.

High 5, Inc. is a community-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our purpose is to impact lives daily through superior educational and athletic programming that enhances physical, mental, and spiritual well being.

Ways to Get Involved

We are always looking for volunteers to help with our programs and special events. Register to get involved here.

Families are encouraged to become involved... for instance, Blue Wave moms may serve on the swim meet planning committee and many TRIDENT parents love to chaperone field trips.

Ways to Give

There are many ways to support High 5 and our programs. Donations and Sponsorships are always needed. You can donate monthly. Sponsor a program, event or a week of Summer Camp. We also appreciate the gift of your time!

We want to engage with parents raising their families within the greater Tampa community. We want to build relationships with people and businesses that are consistent with our mission of building families with healthy ideals.
