Candy Corsi was first introduced to BSAC seven years ago while working at Plant City High School. She met a student’s parent who was the Director of TRIDENT at the time, and was then asked to join the BSAC team. Throughout the years, Candi has helped her

BSAC Blue Wave Travels to Savannah Georgia

After a successful winter training session, the BSAC Blue Wave Swim Team visited Savannah, Georgia for their annual travel meet in January. This is Blue Wave’s third year of participating in travel meets, having previously visited the Caribbean and New Orleans. Each year the trips grow in popularity among swimmers and parents alike.

Rich Rogers, Head Coach of BSAC Blue Wave, wanted to make this trip about shared experiences and team bonding, rather than focusing solely on performance.

BSAC’s Mermaid Camp had a successful debut in December, offering an unforgettable experience for young swimmers between the ages of 5-12. For the very first time, pink and blue tails filled our heated, Ken Hagan Community Learn to Swim Pool. Lifeguard and resident mermaid, Mariah Diaz, led the 5 day course which covered everything from underwater flips to proper swimming technique.

Theresa Hickie, Senior Director of Sports Programming, wanted to bring the magic of mermaids to the Brandon area.

Camp Gladiator will be launching its fitness boot camp program right here at BSAC on Monday, January 28th! This means all BSAC members get to enjoy a two week preview for FREE! BSAC employees will be offered an extended six week trial period. Classes will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. BSAC would like to thank you for your interest in our upcoming fundraiser, The Trident Treasure Gala, which will take place Saturday, February 15, 2020, at The Regent in Riverview. We anticipate an outstanding evening with more than 425 guests in attendance.

The Trident Treasure Gala will be our signature event of the year. Guests and sponsors will enjoy a sit-down dinner and open bar, all while dressed in their favorite pirate attire! Guests will also be able to bid on unique items in our silent and live auctions.

BSAC would like to congratulate Denise Scott and Sarah Neely for being recognized as the December Team Leaders of the Month! Both women go above and beyond at BSAC by expanding their roles and working in numerous departments. Team leaders are chosen based off nominations from colleagues who appreciate their hard work.

Denise Scott first began her BSAC journey by volunteering as a sign language interpreter when her brother joined TRIDENT. Now Denise is a TRIDENT instructor, teaching students essential life skills like social cues and personal hygiene. She recently put in

Members of the BSAC Blue Wave swim team had a special guest speaker on December 24th, 2018. Olympic gold medalist, Davis Tarwater, spoke about his lifelong journey to the London 2012 games, inspiring young swimmers to work hard and chase dreams.

His career started in high school when he set three state swimming records in his hometown, Knoxville Tennessee. Davis Tarwater went on to become a three time NCAA national champion and thirteen-time All-American during his time at the University of Michigan, where he won a Big Ten Medal of Honor in

Team TRIDENT put on a fantastic performance in our 7th Annual Talent Show, Broadway or Bust! Students practiced for months leading up to the show, which was held on December 14th, 2018 in the BSAC gymnasium.

Every year, students in TRIDENT have the opportunity to shine on stage, expressing their unique personalities and gifts. Parents especially love seeing the joy on their child’s face as they finish their talent and step off the stage. The TRIDENT fan base grows larger every year, and students fed off the energy from our biggest audience
