Friday, April 21, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Saturday, April 22, 8:00 am -4:00 pm
Sunday, April 23, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (we may end earlier if possible)
BSAC offers the American Red Cross Lifeguard certification Blended Learning Class. Blended Learning means that the students will utilize the ARC learning center to help facilitate the LG course. Students will attend the pre-req swim test. Students who want to become a LG should know how to swim. The LG course will not teach you how to swim. After the swim test students will receive via email the internet web link to the online portion of the class. They will have one week to complete the online portion of the class prior to the classroom portion.
The cost of the course is $199, plus a $35 fee paid to the American Red Cross for online registration and access to all material. You will need to purchase a resuscitation mask during the course which will be needed for the CPR portion. This can be purchased at the Member Services Desk for $15.00 or you may purchase at an alternate location.
***There are no refunds for the course fee, and payment must be made in advance. *** If you do not pass the class, you are eligible to attend a future lifeguard session.
You must be 15 years of age by the end of the course, attend EVERY CLASS, and pass the FINAL EXAM to be certified. There will be no make up classes. You must be PROMPT in attending all classes.
*The prerequisite swim test will be held at BSAC on the first day of the course. You are required to swim 300 yards for lifeguarding, Freestyle (crawl stroke) and breast stroke, 2 minute treading water and 1 minute 40 second timed swim. The class will not be held unless we have 3 registered students.
