• What certifications/background checks do the employees go through?
    • BSAC is a state licensed program, so ALL EMPLOYEES (not just summer camp staff) must have a federal AND local background check, as well as ALL EMPLOYEES must be CPR/First Aid/AED certified.

  • What is the cost of Summer Camp?
    • Full Day – $150/week per child (7:00am – 6:30pm)
    • Half Day – $90/week per child (7:00am – 12:30pm OR 1:00pm – 6:30pm)
    • Drop-In – $40/day per child
  • When will I be charged the first week of summer camp billing?
    • Billing will always be charged to your financial account (credit card, debit card or bank account the Wednesday PRIOR TO each week).
    • BSAC summer camp billing is on an AUTOMATIC billing system that gets drawn from a credit card, debit card, or bank account – EVERYONE MUST submit this information, no exceptions!
    • MyProcare also providers families an opportunity to pay their weekly tuition fees online.
  • What if I want my billing to be taken from my account every two weeks?
    • With so many families that are billed, we only offer weekly billing. If you would like to pay bi-weekly you must pay in advance for those two weeks.
  • What does my child wear to summer camp?
    • Your child should wear athletic clothing and close-toed shoes AT ALL TIMES!
    • NO two-piece bathing suits, must have a one-piece suit to swim.
  • What should my child bring to summer camp?
    • He/she should always bring their bathing suit, towel & sunscreen.
    • Reusable water bottle
    • Lunch and snacks
    • NO ELECTRONICS at all!
    • Positive attitude
  • What are the ratios of counselor to children?
    • Since BSAC is a state licensed program, we must adhere to ratios.
    • ECP & Juniors – 1:11 ratio (State ratio is 1:15)
    • 1st-2nd – 1:15 ratio (State ratio is 1:25)
    • 3rd-Seniors – 1:20 (State ratio is 1:25)
  • Does BSAC provide snacks/lunches to the kids?
    • BSAC does NOT provide children with snacks/lunches – it is up to the parent to provide each child(s) with snack and lunch.
    • BSAC does provide the option to the parent to buy snacks/lunches through BSAC’s full café each day and they can load money through an electronic snack card done through the member services staff.
  • What if my child has allergies?
    • There is a spot in the packet to let the staff know. This information is provided to each child’s camp counselor during the time the child is in our care.
  • When will we know if any weeks are full?
    • We can only provide the information when we know the weeks are full. HOWEVER, the past three years – every week has been 100% full. So sign up for the weeks ASAP!
  • When will we get the camp shirt and backpack?
    • You will receive your shirt and backpack at time of registration.
  • Who can pick up my child?
    • Only those with WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION on your child’s emergency card authorization pick-up will be allowed to pick up your child with a valid photo ID – NO EXCEPTIONS!!
    • You can always update your authorized emergency pick-up card with the staff if you forgot someone.
  • Where do all the children go during a hazardous situation (tornado, hurricane, etc.)?
    • The children go inside of the building into the rooms without windows. We have specific procedures with evacuating into areas/rooms without windows.
  • When will the field trip list be released?
    • The field trip dates are all being finalized and will be available by April 7th.
    • Field trips are an additional cost, and the average cost of a field trip is roughly $12.00
    • If your child does not want to go on a field trip, that is PERFECTLY FINE! We will ALWAYS be having activities going on in the group regardless of if your child is on the field trip or not.
    • Parents are not allowed to attend field trips as chaperones.
    • Parents are not allowed to drop their child off or pick their child up at the site of the field trip. Due to state licensing, we MUST transport all children to and from the field trip.
  • What if my child does not want to swim?
    • No child is forced to swim ever. Similar to field trips, the groups will ALWAYS have activities going on regardless of if kids are in the pool or not.
