Brandon, Florida facility to join hundreds of aquatic venues around the world in holding simultaneous FREE all-ages swim class on Thursday, June 23rd from 8:45am to 9:45am
TAMPA, Fla., [6/10/22]– Every small part in water safety is a big deal at High 5. Especially because, when it comes to the fundamental importance of teaching swimming to kids, there are no small parts!
Soon, they’ll all add up to a much bigger sum as High 5 prepares to play its part as a host site for this year’s World’s Largest Swim Lesson, an annual international event created by the World Waterpark Association to raise awareness about youth drowning prevention.
According to High 5’s Chuck Burgess, CEO, the collective effort is driven by local partners in participating communities, giving children access to a free swim lesson in fun-filled, but fully secure environments under the watchful eyes of certified swimming instructors.
“In just twenty seconds, children can drown in as little as two inches of water,” Burgess explained. “So, even though pool time makes for the best summer playtime around, learning-to-swim is essential and potentially life-saving for tots and toddlers, as well their older brothers and sisters, and parents, too.”
This year, High 5 is going “all-in” for the event, eager to spread the word and sets its own personal best for attendance. Both High 5 members and non-members are welcome to take part.
The schedule of events will be as follows:
8:00 AM – 8:30 AM Park, check-in, and sign waivers
8:30 AM – 8:45 AM Groups and instructors allocated
8:45 AM – 9:45 AM World’s Largest Swim Lesson; includes safety stations
