Students will learn how to safely prepare healthy dishes, and explore the wonders of the world’s best foods. The objective is for students to learn how to properly use basic cooking tools, prepare meals for every aspect of the day and how to read nutritional labels and recipes while learning to budget accordingly. They will explore foods from around the world while learning the meaning and history behind them.
Students will cut, paste, paint, mold, and create while letting their imagination run free. They will use fine motor skills while learning about the history of various holidays, artists, and movements. Students will practice and learn different artistic techniques and methods and utilize science and math skills to achieve their results.
Students will have the opportunity to explore science and technology concepts at all stages of learning. They get to delve into the challenges facing today’s scientists, discover real-world math and science while building a challenge-related model using LEGO elements. Students learn to work together as a team and have the opportunity to compete against other sites
An introductory to our Robotics club, the Lego club gives our younger students the opportunity to practice their math skills, team work and fine motor skills through counselor led projects using Lego’s.
Students will work with different members of the community and collaborate on student lead projects. They will learn about different community members through guest speakers, how to problem solve and work together to achieve a goal, how to raise money and budget for projects, and experience the gift of giving their time and energy to serve others.
BSAC has partnered with local community –based Gardeners to provide our students some insight on Farm to Table foods, the importance of knowing where your food comes from, and sustainability. Students can expect to get their hands dirty every week!
Students will be using math and fine motor skills as they learn the fundamentals of building. We have partnered with local businesses to provide hands-on experience in construction and building, leadership, team-work and service.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that engages students by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment.
