There’s a High 5
for all of us.
Since 1963, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with our membership and community partners from all walks of life to provide the after-school, water safety, special needs education, and sports and recreation services we all need to live, thrive, and survive. Now, we’re joining together with a renewed focus on doing what we do best, even better!
Introducing our Pillars in Progress:
High 5 is expanding our partnerships in after-school programs on behalf of local elementary schools in Brandon and beyond, engaging young minds through student leadership programs, encouraging participation in arts and crafts, gardening, robotics, and cooking clubs, and keeping kids active in after-school sports leagues. At High 5, every field of play is in play, and that includes the pool!
YOUTH DROWNING PREVENTION
High 5 proudly joins youth drowning prevention partners the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County and the YMCA on the front lines of swimming safety, increasing Mobile Swim sites for the summer, as well as supporting High 5 swim leagues and lesson plans. Even better, children in Head Start can opt-in for free swimming lessons. That’s worth a High 5 across the board!
SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION
High 5 helps close the gaps in care for the youngest among us, as well as older adults who can’t always help themselves. Our goal is to create safe, nurturing environments where autistic children and young adults can improve their life-skills. Our Team T.R.I.D.E.N.T. and Livingstone Academy partners ensure no child—or adult—is ever left behind. For all the little victories in life, that’s High 5!
SPORTS AND RECREATION
High 5 continues to be the region’s leader in family-first sports and aquatics recreation, going above and beyond the norm to make a real impact in the lives of children, families, individuals, and adults of all ages and abilities. Whether it’s in the pool or on the courts, we’ve got a program that fits every journey to fitness. If you’ve got the will, High 5 can show you the way!
High 5 is a community-based 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that’s dedicated to providing opportunities for civic involvement and scholarship throughout the region. We partner with the local Rotary Club and two Chambers of Commerce, the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, and the Greater Brandon Community Foundation, among others. Together as one—High 5—second to none!
