Blue Wave is an organizationally-owned and coach-operated program that practices at the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center in Brandon, FL (BSAC). Blue Wave also operates out of other Tampa Bay area facilities including ones in Fishhawk Ranch (Lithia), Camp Wai Lani (Palm Harbor), the Bobby Walker Memorial Pool (Clearwater High School) and The Highlander Pool (Dunedin). We strive to offer the best in aquatic instruction and training available anywhere at all of our facilities. Under the direction of our current Director of Competitive Aquatics, Rich Rogers, we look continue to reach new heights.
The Blue Wave Learn to Swim program is the most comprehensive swim lesson program in our area. We offer group lessons (levels 1-4), private lessons, and semi-private lessons for children and adults, as well as parent/tot classes.
“With our program, these players are trained, developed and prepared for the next level of competitive playing,” TBVA officials say. “They key to our success is that while all this comprehensive training is occurring, the players are having fun.”
Using the QuickStart format, Ten and Under Tennis is an exciting new play method for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. It is divided into two different levels – Ages 5 to 7 and Ages 8 to 10. It’s the fast, fun way to get kids into tennis – and keep them playing.
For serious, advanced players (middle school, high school, USTA state and national ranked and college) who want to fine tune their game. Emphasis on drills, technical and tactical training, match play and fitness. This program has produced over 10 Collegiate players each year since its inception at BSAC. Meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Entrance into this program is by evaluation only.
For the serious beginner/intermediate tennis players (recreational, grade school to high school and USTA players). Emphasis on drills, technical and tactical training, match play and fitness while also reviewing the fundamentals of tennis: grip, footwork, hand-eye coordination, stroke development, etc. Meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Entrance into this group is by evaluation only.
