My wife, Chequita, and I came to Brandon for one reason – TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Our slogan is simple: Your CAUSE. Our COMMUNITY. My MISSION. Isn’t that what it’s all about? Causes, Community, Mission!!

Christie Lemar,
Director of Youth Development

A long-time resident of the Greater Brandon area, Lemar is committed to championing new ideas and maintaining the strong traditions of BSAC’s after-school and summer programming. A certified childcare professional, Lemar is state-licensed and certified by both the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and the Council for Professional Recognition, as a Child Development Associate (CDA). The mother of three boys, Lemar has volunteered in local schools and with the Boy Scouts of America for close to 20 years.

Christie and her husband, BSAC board member David Lemar, have been avid swim parents and team volunteers and both are certified USA Swim officials. Most recently Christie Lemar was director of member programming for the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce, where she planned events to help businesses grow and connect to the community at large.

Coach Rich Rogers,
Blue Wave Swim Team

In his time as a Master’s coach, Coach Rich Rogers led his swimmers to hundreds of USMS National Top Ten rankings, countless USMS All Americans and National & World championship gold medal performances. Rich has run successful Swim Schools throughout the Bay helping countless number of area children how to swim.

Rich is happy to be a the helm of Blue Wave. He is certain we will find new and innovative ways to both grow the program and improve the experience for the swimmers and their families. Coach Rogers truly believes in the organization’s mission of Impacting Lives Daily. He hopes to contribute all he can to make his swimmers and their families the best they can be.

Shelby Johnson,
Assistant Director of Youth Development

Johnson is a 2013 graduate of the University of South Florida, with a B.S. degree in business marketing. A certified childcare professional, Johnson is state-licensed and certified by both the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and the Council for Professional Recognition, as a Child Development Associate (CDA). Johnson has been a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters for 4 years.

Bryn Lloyd,
The Academy of Soccer

Bryn Lloyd, founder of The Academy of Soccer, in residence at BSAC, grew up playing soccer in Dover, England. Before coming to America in 1996, he played professionally and coached for the Chelsea Football Club.

Svetoslav Bobev,
Blue Wave Swim Team

Coach Svetoslav, or “Svet” as he is affectionately know to our swimmers,  comes to Blue Wave with a lot of international swim coaching experience. Svet has been a National Team Coach for both Bulgaria and Croatia. His swimmers have had success at every level.

“…my role allows me to work with the swimmers both in the pool and in the gym. I enjoy working with Coach Rich and his staff. I get to share what I have learned in Europe while I learn how a successful club is developed in the States.”
